Grain, grapes, sugar beet and legumes all grow well here (the village has good groundwater since the 1979 wells). Foreign buyers face extra rules on agricultural land — leasing or partnering with a villager is the simpler route.

Hundreds of thousands visit Lake Salda every year; almost none stay in a real village. A small, well-run guesthouse in Güney would be first of its kind.
